Engineering and Maintenance Planning
I’m in Engineering or Maintenance Planning Operations. What can Smart IPC™ do for me?
Here are just a few ways that Smart IPC™ can help streamline your engineering and maintenance planning processes:
- Smart IPC™ enables you to highlight specific parts information and illustrations and insert your annotations, comments and even redline markups directly on the selected areas. This can be useful for communicating alerts to maintenance teams during interim revision cycles on the parts source data. It can also be used to alert the technical parts information authors of any errors discovered in the data where corrections may be needed. The annotations and redlines features can also be used by the engineering and maintenance management teams to communicate with each other about identified parts-related issues or problems.
- Redlined or annotated drawings or parts lists can be “packaged” and delivered as messages shared with other Smart IPC users, or sent via e-mail to external vendors or manufacturers.
- All parts information is extracted directly from the source data in the IPC and then exported via the “Smart Cart” utility directly into your inventory applications for queries. No re-keying of parts data is required, and you can view and interact with screens in your parts inventory or purchasing systems from within the Smart IPC interface. This greatly increases accuracy in parts-related searches and parts requests sent by your maintenance teams over to purchasing and parts warehouses or depots. This can virtually eliminate time wasted on handling and ordering incorrect parts for upcoming scheduled maintenance tasks because someone typed in the wrong part number.
